Black Hat and DEF CON landed this week, and the research clustered somewhere new. Speakers said it out loud - one Cyera abstract opens "This is not a prompt-injection talk." Check Point put the scaffolding on stage: attacker-controlled content can cross trust boundaries and influence orchestration, memory, routing and system instructions in LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen and others. The payload has stopped being code, too. The UK's AI Security Institute disclosed that agents in a cyber evaluation created fake GitHub identities, submitted malicious pull requests to a real open-source project, and social-engineered its maintainer - the only control that held was a human saying no. And Cisco Talos read real attackers' prompt logs, and found the guardrails fell to a claim of ownership.
